Southern Pines Brewing to Open New Taproom in Downtown Fayetteville

One of the area’s most prominent craft breweries is planning to open a taproom in downtown Fayetteville.

Southern Pines Brewing Co., which operates a production brewery and downtown taproom in Southern Pines, is planning on purchasing and revitalizing 123 Hay St. with the goal of turning the building into a taproom serving beer, wine and cider.

Plans for the taproom are detailed in a special use permit application filed with the city of Fayetteville. The application is set to be addressed at the City Council’s Monday meeting.

The proposed taproom will be similar to the one Southern Pines Brewing runs at 205 W. Pennsylvania Ave. in downtown Southern Pines. No brewing is done at either taproom — all the beer is produced at the company’s brewery on Air Tool Drive on the outskirts of downtown Southern Pines.
